Emerging Technology Part 1.

The article was about silicon 3-D transistors. It stated that Moore’s law (the prediction that the number of transistors will double roughly every two years) will continue, thus providing an opportunity to significantly increase the energy efficiency and speed of processors. It also stated that the on and off flow of current in conventional chips is controlled by an electric field generated by a so called gate that sits upon the top of a wide, shallow conducting channel embedded in a silicon substrate. Intel claims that the new transistors will be able to switch 37% faster than the average transistors.
By what I have read, I believe that at one point the world is going to continue to become more advanced and I do believe Moore’s law, because if they are becoming so advanced right now who knows what is to come later in life. What surprised me the most was that the old transistors were always leaking current; I thought that the old transistors were very stable and secure. Possibilities for the future may be that we become too advanced, or that we finally discover what the world actually has to offer.
Two technologies that are continually being used even today include, Intelligent software assisting (smart phones, Iphones, Ipads, Tablets, etc.) and Software defined networking.
